May 19, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Texas Reds and Whites Tasting Room is pleased to have winemaker Seth Urbanek of Wedding Oak Winery present an educational wine and food pairing event. Some of Wedding Oaks finest. Wines included in the tasting:
– Terre Blanc 2015 – Opens with soft fermentation aromatics of honeycomb and chamomile; this lively blend has an interesting mineral-like mouthfeel. Grapes for this Estate wine are harvested over a three-week period, with Roussanne coming into the cellar two weeks after the earlier Viognier harvest with Marsanne harvested in between. Pairing- Havarti cheese.
– Albarino 2018 – This single varietal wine has a shimmering pale gold color with aromas of nectarine, mandarin orange, lemon meringue, and tea leaf. On the palate, it is bright and crisp with bright flavors of lemon peel. Pairing- Mild (not smoked) Gouda cheese
– Reconcilable Differences 2016 – Produced in a drier style than previous vintage this dark red-purple colored wine shows aromas of cooked cherries, caramel, brown sugar, and thyme. Despite the dryness of the wine, the palate is loaded with red and black fruit flavors and has fairly robust tannins. Pairing- Manchego cheese.
– Tioja 2016 – This wine has a dark ruby color and complex aromas of black cherry, cola, cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, and plum. On the palate, tart red cherry and white pepper combines with robust tannins to make an elegant and structured wine. Pairing- Spanish Chorizo or dried sausage.
Ticket prices: $20.00 pre-event sale and $25.00 at the door.
